Keely Mackey Concert, July 18 @ 6 p.m.

Raised in Youngstown, NY, cellist and composer, Keely Mackey, returns to St. John’s for a third time, for a special summer cello concert.

Keely will perform her nature inspire doriginal cello compositions from her latest solo album, Celloquacious: I Speak Through My Cello. This performance will include Keely playing her song, Out at Sea, which was inspired by her growing up sailing on Lake Ontario. This song was awarded the 2020 New Mexico Music Award in the Ambient Instrumental Category, and was also a semi-finalist for the 2021 International Songwriting Competition (the largest songwriting competition in the world with 21,000 entries) in the Instrumental category.

Additionally, Keely was a 2023 NMMA finalist for two of her songs, which she’ll play as well. She’s excited to have a special internationally performing flute player join her!
